While servers are down, you will still be able to play Ghost Recon: Wildlands offline with AI teammates. Afterwards, a patch including Ghost War and additional fixes will be released on all platforms.

"We'll operate a 10h long maintenance on 10.10 7am UTC for the Ghost War release and TU8", Ubisoft said in a Twitter post.

Ubisoft is hoping their open-world shooter Ghost Recon: Wildlands will find new life or even a new audience with the upcoming Ghost War PVP free update and they're opening up the door with a free weekend that runs October 12 to October 15.

Not only can you play the base game itself, but the newly added PvP modes are also available for you to experience in this free weekend. That brings the starting price of the game from $60 to $30, with the prices going up to as much as $80 (with the discount applied) for the Collector Gold Edition.

Wildlands will go free between 12-16 October on Windows PC Xbox One and PS4. Players who purchase the full game will see all their progress carry over from the free weekend. Players who own a PlayStation 4 Plus, Xbox Live Gold or a Uplay will be able to benefit from this discount offer until October 23.
