The police further noted that all the victims had stab injuries on their bodies. "We are investigating every possible angle of the case", special commissioner of police S.B.K. Singh said.

Four women members of a family, along with a security guard, were found murdered in East Delhi's Mansarovar Park on Saturday, said news reports.

The house was found ransacked but all the valuables belonging to the women were found safe.

The deceased have been identified as Urmila Jindal (82), her daughters Sangeeta Gupta (56), Nupur Jindal (48) and Anjali Jindal (38) and their security guard Rakesh (42), the police said. More details on the matter are awaited. One of the families comprised of Urmila and her three daughters. Two of them were unmarried and the eldest was also a widow.

A police officer told IANS that they were looking whether personal animosity could have led to the horrific murders.

Police said the family owns Jindal Oil Mill in the national capital. "It'll be shocking if the probe reveals their involvement", he said, adding that the family often celebrated birthdays in the garden inside their house.

The crime team and forensic officials have inspected the spot and lifted fingerprints. "One sister wasn't well, another was divorced, so she used to take care of the finances of the family in the absence of a male member", she said.
