The rest of the quarter resulted in three punts by Tampa Bay and one by New England. Where the Bucs have really killed bettors is at home, where the team is just 22-46-1 at the betting window in their last 69 games at Raymond James Stadium.

The Patriots are coming off a 33-30 loss to the Carolina Panthers last week, while the Bucs are coming off a 25-23 win over the New York Giants.

Brady threw for 303 yards and one touchdown, and the Patriots held off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-14 to rebound from a last-second loss that left them searching for answers to defensive woes.

At the time of his third missed kick, the Bucs were nine points behind New England, a three-field goal deficit.

Brady said that sometimes, especially early in a season, some parts of the team are functioning better than others. "20-19. This one's on me", the 32-year-old admitted. "It's just part of the business".

Worst acts of stupidity: The Pats committed back-to-back roughing the passer penalties - by Deatrich Wise and Cassius Marsh - to allow the Buccaneers to get into field goal position at the end of the half, although Nick Folk did miss from 56 yards.

Jameis Winston rallied Tampa Bay late with an 18-yard TD pass to Cameron Brate that trimmed New England's lead to 16-14 with 2:09 remaining.

"Asked whether Folk would be their kicker moving forward, Koetter said: "[General manager] Jason Licht and I had a brief conversation afterwards.

"What's tough about them is, even though we haven't gone ourselves against New England a bunch of times, when you study them, they're an amoeba defense", Koetter said.

"Our backs were kind of against the wall", safety Devin McCourty said.

I'm not sure if Aguayo's image is damaged beyond fix in Tampa Bay, but there has to be some sort of redemption story waiting to be written here. Second-round draft pick Roberto Aguayo went 31-of-43 past year and was cut during the preseason in favor of Folk. "That is what gets the best out of me, when I am following a guy and studying a certain guy". We only kicked live in practice one day this week, and Nick was lights out.

They've been a trendy playoff pick for two straight offseasons, and when you look up and down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' roster, it's easy to see why.

Linebacker Lavonte David was also listed as doubtful on Wednesday's injury report with an ankle injury.

"I'll probably get away, hang out with my wife and kids", Folk said. Had he converted just two of the three kicks he missed on Thursday, the Bucs would have had a legitimate shot at winning. But if you want to get to 3-2 we've got to play better than the way we played the first four weeks.
