He tweeted, "Very happy to share this news that #NEWTON is India's official entry to the #OSCARS this year".

When asked about his team strategy to promote Newton at the Oscars, Rajkummar said, "It's just got announced and its too soon to decide but our team is going to meet and we will plan something about it because there has to be strategy". In many films we had seen in 2017, we saw them in different types of rolls.

Newton has been chosen as the official entry for Academy Awards 2018 under the category of foreign language film. After watching the film, Big B took to Twitter and wrote, "Saw the film "NEWTON". its stark reality was a treat to watch!" Newton starring the versatile actor Rajkummar Rao in the lead role who gave back to back successful movie with an incredible storyline. I'm still trying to process that information. "I have the most matter-of-fact parents and girlfriend". "Whether we make it to the shortlist, win or not, are thoughts that are far away from my head right now".

While talking about all the similarities between the leading stars he said, "I knew someday people will draw similarities but what can one do?" And Newton has now made that dream come true. I think it's our best chance to get into the Oscars. It is running normally at the box office.

The story of the film is very interesting, the writer Amit Masurkar and Mayank Tiwari have said the hard subject in a very simple way and that is the biggest feature of the movie. A lady polling officer goes door to door. "They're making sure I stay grounded", he concludes.

Anil Kapoor: Congratulations Rajkummar Rao and the whole team of "Newton"!
