The day one collection of Simran stands at Rs 2.50 crore against Lucknow Central's rather poor Rs 1.75 crore as per a Box Office India report.

Simran got rave reviews from the critics, with Kangana winning all the praises for her acting skills. The film faces tough competition from Kangana Ranaut's "Simran", which also released on Same Day.

The film failed to meet the prediction first-day collection, the film received below average opening at the box office. On Friday, Lucknow Central had a clash with Kangana Ranaut's crime thriller Simran, which has made slightly higher that Farhan's film. It managed to generate some buzz due to its star cast, theme and trailer. Friday 2.77 cr, Sat 3.76 cr. "#LucknowCentral shows 38.24% growth on Sat. Fri 2.04 cr, Sat 2.82 cr. India biz... Growth on Sat and Sun is crucial". Now, The film is expected to earn around 3-4 crores at Indian Box Office on its day3, Sunday. Anyhow, our Kishan loves music, talks about dreaming big despite belonging to a small town and then, at the bat of an eyelid, finds himself serving life imprisonment for a murder he never committed.

"Lucknow Central" also features Gippy Grewal, Diana Penty, Farhan Akhtar, Deepak Dobriyal, Inaamulhaq, Ronit Roy and Ravi Kissen in prominent roles. "Ranjit Tiwari's Lucknow Central, a film about prisoners who form a band - a surprisingly popular theme this season - can be called engaging only because it is populated by very good character actors".

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures, the Ranjit Tiwari directorial is running on a positive note in the box office.
