Undoubtedly, this is the most exciting time for smartphone aficionados as after Samsung (Galaxy Note 8) and Apple (iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus), it's time for Google to unveil the next Pixel smartphones. As if Google doesn't know the answers, a specific date-October 4-was only shown.

The Mountain View company has launched a new webpage stating -'Thinking about changing phones? Now, Google has openly confirmed that it is indeed the launch date of the new Pixel devices with the tag line "Ask more of your phone".

The tech giant also released a video with the title 'Funny you should ask, ' with questions typed into the search engine like, "What's wrong with my phone's battery?"

HTC will manufacture the Pixel 2 standard version, like the smartphone's first generation.

Google product release

Rumors of a Pixel 2 release have been coming out for months. This way, users won't have to take up storage space and memory use on their Pixel phone.

Last year's Pixel and Pixel XL were well received for their cameras and the teaser for the launch suggests that Google has improved on the camera front this time around.

Neither set of documents identifies Google or the Pixel 2 by name, but it's notable that two separate companies use such similar identifiers for their new devices. We expect the same from the new models and we might see a dual camera setup on the Pixel 2 XL which will also come with the portrait mode or whatever google calls it.

Either way we should have the details next month, so if you are eyeing either the Pixel 2 or the larger Pixel 2 XL, keep in mind to mark down the 4th of October on your calendars and check back with us then for more updates.
