While the telethon will be helping Harvey's victims, "by Tuesday we might be helping more than them", Braun said, a reference to powerful Hurricane Irma in the Atlantic Ocean, which may threaten Florida and the southern USA this weekend.

The pair join a stacked lineup that includes Beyonce, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Jamie Foxx, Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney, among many others.

The telethon will be broadcast from Los Angeles, New York and Nashville, with a finale performance from Texas featuring George Strait. The one-hour special, which will benefit those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, will air live and commercial free on Tuesday, September 12 at 8:00EDT/7:000CDT and re-air at 8:00pmPDT on the West Coast.

Starting at 8pm ET, ABC, CBS, NBC, Univision, MTV, BET, CMT, HBO and others will dedicate their feeds to the one-hour, star-studded special.

The telethon was originally planned to help victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas, but organizers announced last week that funds will also go to help victims of Hurricane Irma.

In addition to airing on CBS2, the event will be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. SiriusXM will be carrying the audio ofHand inHandallowing subscribers to tune in on their TODAY Show Radio (ch. 108), The Foxxhole (ch. 96) and Radio Andy (ch. 102) channels. Michael Dell, a Houston native, has given $5 million to the fund. Verizon will be running a call center for the drive, and it has given $2.5 million to "Hand in Hand", according to a press release.
