All six of Mayfield's touchdown passes this season - three against the Miners and three against Ohio State - have been to different Sooners. But when you look at the opponents the three teams above them just beat, you start to get it. Penn State is still very much a College Football Playoff threat; in fact, it could be the most likely Big Ten team to reach the festivities after Ohio State's loss. Is there not a play created to throw into the end zone or at least around the one-yard line to make a play for a touchdown? He often resorted to pulling the ball down and taking off himself.

Quarterback J.T. Barrett has now thrown for less than 200 yards in four of the last five games and had failed to throw a touchdown pass in three of the last four, so naturally all the vitriol is directed at him. Earlier on Monday morning, OU head coach Lincoln Riley defended his star player's celebration on the Big 12 teleconference.

Riley said the incident shouldn't overshadow the game. We competed at a high, high level. "That is, is Dwayne game-ready to help us go win a game?"

Meyer said everything is being evaluated this week before Army visits Saturday, although he continues to be resolute that Barrett's starting job is not in danger. "But definitely didn't play up to par as far as putting us in the best situation to win".

It was payback time for the Sooners, who had to watch Buckeyes players embrace and sing their alma mater on the field after the 45-24 loss at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium a year ago. Miami (Fla.) and Florida State had their game moved back to October 7. Virginia Tech travels to East Carolina this week before big home games against Old Dominion and Clemson. He was 19 for 35 for 183 yards.

Oklahoma: The Sooners staked a legitimate claim as a national championship contender. But for now he apparently is, and that could be the reason why oddsmakers still like Ohio State more than MI this year.

It was a loud week at the top of the AP Poll, but there wasn't much significant movement in the middle. They showed they are still susceptible to killer mistakes that need to be corrected if they expect to win out.

"We've been No. 1 in nation in total defense five times", Patterson said. "Nobody points fingers. Own up to it and get to work tomorrow".

This will be the first ever meeting between Ohio State and UNLV. Last season's Tigers vs Cardinals game was arguably the best of any regular season game in 2016. Barrett also has been hesitant to throw at all, unless the wide receivers are open.

Mike Weber returning from injury against Oklahoma was supposed to be a significant addition to the backfield that includes J.K. Dobbins who ran for a Buckeye record in his debut last week vs. Indiana. Meyer said there was plenty of blame to go around.

"I see a mentally tough guy", Meyer said of Barrett, who is 39-for-70 passing this season for 487 yards. Still some good matchups- We were spoiled this past weekend with so many good college teams battling in Week 2 of the season.

Which brings us to the really embarrassing part. Our preparation was great.

One stat, since being pointed out by Eleven Warriors, is the talk of the town: Ohio State ranks No. 130, aka last, in passing yards allowed per game, at 403.
