In spite of what was a brilliant performance from the Liverpool side, Jürgen Klopp will be fully aware of the importance of squad depth with Champions League football confirmed for the season.

There is a fear they won't do it.

Eintracht Frankfurt will be asking themselves how they lost to VfL Wolfsburg 1-0 after rattling the woodwork repeatedly, wasting a hatful of chances and having more shots on goal in the first half than in any game of the last three seasons. There's also a little bit of hope, though, that a new signing might still arrive.

Sanches missed Bayern's opening 3-1 win at home to Bayer Leverkusen when the Bundesliga season kicked off last weekend and Ancelotti has confirmed he'd be happy to let the Portuguese worldwide leave should the right offer come in.

Sanches only made 17 appearances in the Bundesliga last season after moving to the Allianz Arena for €35million last summer in a deal that could rise to €80million depending on objectives.

Bayern, for their part, prefer the idea of a loan. If Liverpool land him, it will be a good coup.

The Portuguese starlet moved to Bayern from Benfica back in May 2016 but endured a hard opening campaign at the Allianz Arena, making just two starts since the turn of the year and managing just 615 minutes of Bundesliga football overall.

However, due to Bayern's surplus of midfield talent, Sanches' playing time has been limited.

Bayern Munich's out-of-favour midfielder is available this summer and reports in Germany suggest Jurgen Klopp is happy to add him to the squad.
