Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi started for Leicester City as Arsenal came back from 2-1 down to beat the Foxes 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller in the opening game of the English Premier League on Friday night, reports.

Alexandre Lacazette got his and Arsenal's season off to the flawless start with a debut goal in the first two minutes.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has told Arsene Wenger he'd like to be starting more games after netting a late victor in tonight's 4-3 thriller against Leicester City. Following a short corner on the left, Marc Albrighton's deep cross was headed back across goal by Harry Maguire and Okazaki leapt to nod a header past Petr Cech.

That was met with optimism but only for two minutes as Okazaki's header brought the Foxes level.

"But I haven't been able to score on a consistent basis, which is something I need to be able to do".

After two straight opening day defeats, and a series of failures in the league, this really is no-more-excuses time for Wenger, who, amidst much objection, signed a new two-year contract.

In stoppage time of the first half, Arsenal played their handsome game to make it 2-2 on the night.

The atmosphere began to turn sour at the Emirates but thankfully for the Gunners faithful, Danny Welbeck chipped the ball into the net after some neat build up play from Arsenal.

Just the start Arsenal fans wanted to see. They're also looking for their first Premier League win over Arsenal.

For the first time since Arsene Wenger was hired in 1996, Arsenal finished outside of the top four last season. The Frenchman replied: "I would like (if) somebody who comes in gets the club to the next level".

The victor would come two minutes later when Frenchman Giroud headed in a Granit Xhaka corner that flicked off the bar and going in.

It seemed an unlikely platform for victory, but Ramsey neatly controlled Xhaka's dinked pass to drill in an equalizer and moments later Giroud's header from Xhaka's corner completed a remarkable turnaround.

If going by both side's pre-season results, then the overriding feeling before kick-off would have been that the hosts would get off to a flying start.
