Jurgen Klopp has admitted defeat in Liverpool's continued Philippe Coutinho Barcelona transfer saga.

Things started with Liverpool posted an official update on the club's website confirming that FSG will refuse to sell the Brazilian this summer.

Coutinho shocked both the Liverpool fans and the board when he handed in a transfer request via email saying that he wanted to leave the club and join Barcelona.

"I can say something that is maybe more important", Klopp said at a Press conference. Then Jamie Vardy put them ahead in the 29 minute before Danny Welbeck struck the equaliser just before the break. "If they don't sell him, then I'm not involved anymore", Klopp said.

"I can't say anything about it, the only thing is I work with the players I have".

"It was an away game as the first game against a physically really strong side", he said after the match.

Suarez went on to produce a phenomenal run of form, scoring 31 goals in 33 games as the Reds went closer than ever to sealing the Premier League title, before joining Barcelona in 2014. "We worked a lot on them in preseason".

Gomes kept out a Lovren header and Salah blasted over from 20 yards, but there was a nervy moment for Mignolet - confirmed by Klopp as Liverpool's number one for the season - as he fumbled a high ball before gathering at the second attempt.

He added: "I don't think Philippe Coutinho will stay at Anfield".

"I think it (Watford) will be tough, but everybody is looking forward to it, everybody will be at 100 per cent and on fire for the season". So how it change something for me? "That's how life is", Klopp said at a news conference on Friday, a day before Liverpool begins the Premier League season with a game at Watford. "We defended majority really well, but at the end is it enough if we concede one goal? No". I don't make the decision. If you ask early enough, you can either switch the plan of whatever.

But a short while after that statement was published, Coutinho submitted a formal transfer request to the club.

The experienced Uruguayan defender celebrated just his second Watford goal since joining the club but, despite a solid result, the former Napoli man wants to see improvements.
