Indian ODI squad to face Sri Lanka announced

The selectors also opted to rest the spin duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja along with Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami, the team's frontline seamers during the Test series.

The selectors chose to rest four frontline bowlers - Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.

Yuvraj was part of the team during the tour of West Indies last month, but missed out after playing the first three ODIs, due to an injury. Talented Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey has made his come back in the national team. Rohit Sharma is a certainty to again wear the blue jersey, but it's still not known whether the selectors would rest Rahul despite being fully fit. Yuvraj Singh, who was struggling for the form lately has been dropped from the team.

RohitSharma, who was rested for the West Indies series, returns and will be the vice-captain of the side.

Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur have also been called upon in the absence of the prime bowlers.

Virat Kohli (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Ajinkya Rahane, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur.

The five match ODI series will commence from August 20, while, the last game will take place on September 3.

The same squad will represent India in the one-off T20I that follows the ODI series.
