Arsenal's foot-shooting continued when, despite creating numerous chances, they conceded at the other end, with Jamie Vardy showing all his finishing prowess to give Leicester the lead a minute before the half hour.

The Emirates was absolutely hopping at this stage and there was only ever going to be one outcome, the often maligned, Olivier Giroud, like Ramsey before him, came off the bench and scored the victor to send the stadium into raptures.

"But I don't want him to go and in the end he made a decision to stay and it was one of the days of recent weeks for me because I know how important he is". It's the players around him in terms of Arsene Wenger bringing in a better centre forward so he's not the focal point that everyone looks at and says he's not good enough.

"I love the man and the player [Giroud] and he doesn't want to leave and I'm happy that he wants to stay".

Wenger has said Giroud will not be leaving the club during the transfer window despite apparent interest from Everton and Marseille.

"We started really well and I thought we could stay in control".

However, Arsenal's lead didn't last long as Shinji Okazaki hit back with a header only three minutes later after Harry Maguire nodded the ball back into the box.

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare was good on his word and started Riyad Mahrez, despite the fact the Algeria global has asked to leave the club.

The 67-year-old manager praised his side's spirit after their comeback win and admits that there is work to be done in defence after letting Leicester score from two set-pieces.

The Premier League's opening game saw Leicester travel to Arsenal, and for Gunners fans things started with a stirring optimism.

The Gunners won the FA Cup last season and lifted the Community Shield last weekend after beating Chelsea at Wembley. We had a lot of experienced defenders out injured for the game. "We were quite good a year ago on corners and overall I believe that with a bit of work we can get that out of the system".

"After that, we get the efficiency".
