Pochettino said, "I forgive him and now we move on".

Tottenham kick off their Premier League campaign with a hard away trip to Newcastle on Sunday.

Pochettino revealed that he plans to speak to Rose on Saturday, claiming "it will not be a problem", and is certain he will remain at White Hart Lane.

'The worst thing he said was "I don't want Tottenham to have to sign players we have to Google".

"He apologized to the club and the chairman, the manager, the teammates and the fans".

"It is true maybe our circumstances are maybe a bit different to other clubs but you need to wait and be sure you get that right, get the right player to help you".

Rose attacked Tottenham's lack of success in the transfer market - they have yet to sign a single player since the end of last season - by suggesting anyone they have bought previously was so unproven "you had to Google them".

Victor Wanyama missed the north London club's Juventus friendly following a minor knee problem, but it looks possible for him to make his come-back during the Premier League opener. He apologised and everyone needs to move on. For me it's not a big issue.

The Dane, 25, has been a key player for Spurs ever since signing from Ajax in 2013, and he starred last season with eight goals and 15 assists in a superb Premier League campaign.

Prior to that, forward Son Heung-min (£22m), midfielder Erik Lamela (£25.7m), goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (£11.8m) and forward Clint Dempsey (£6m) all joined the club in the closing days and hours of transfer windows.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has assured fans that the club will sign up to four players before the end of the transfer window.

"I don't understand why now it's a big issue when before it wasn't". We need some new energy and strengthen our squad.

Pochettino is happy to draw a line under the controversy but pointed to the achievements of Rose' England colleagues Eric Dier and Dele Alli to underline the folly of the full-back's stance. "With the players we have we can compete in a very good way". We needed to bring some players in some positions to have competition.
