"Phoenix, of course, hired James Jones this offseason", McMenamin said.

With Kyrie Irving still striving for a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers, the superstar point guard purportedly prefers the Los Angeles Clippers as his possible destinations. He's been inside that locker room.

In a report from The Sporting News' Thomas Lott on Friday, it's mentioned that National Basketball Association analyst Peter Vecsey said he's been "told [Kyrie] wants to play for the Clippers". That list initially included multiple teams, but it is now being reported that Irving has narrowed down his options.

ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin went on the BBall Breakdown podcast and talked about Irving. Basically, Jones said that Irving didn't speak to his teammates at practice in between the first round series against in and the second round series against Toronto.

McMenamin added that players have their ups and downs in the regular season, but in the intensity and spotlight of the playoffs, Irving's actions may have been eye-opening to some, including Jones. But when you get to the playoffs, when the main thing is the main thing, and we're brothers and pulling together to get this thing done, even at that level there were still things that made him sullen or reclusive from his teammates.

The Phoenix Suns are the frontrunner to land Irving in a trade, but he has also been heavily linked to the Knicks.

In all, not much traction has been seen on the Irving trade front, as there hasn't been much more than rumored interest and offers among teams to this point.

As Wojnarowski said, given all that has come to the surface this offseason about relationships within the Cavs, the team may look to deal Irving before training camps start in six weeks to avoid any awkwardness.
