Leicester boosted by the signings of Kelechi Iheanacho, Harry Maguire and Vincente Iborra for a combined fee of £52.5m, the target for Shakespeare will now be to finish in the top half of the table.

Initial signs were promising as Iheanacho set up Vardy for the winning goal in the final pre-season friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach last Friday.

In the debut, the 20-year old assisted English striker, Jamie Vardy, to grab the victor in the game that ended 2-1 in Leicester's favour.

Speaking in a room decorated with the headlines and back pages that greeted Leicester's extraordinary triumph 15 months ago, Shakespeare talked about a rollercoaster ride as he reflected on the highs and lows of the past few years and, at the same time, tried to gaze into the future.

"They can play together, most definitely", he said. I thought he was really unselfish for a player making his debut. Just as importantly his quality of play has been there for all to see. "They have some good players too". He's only going to get better.

"He gives us another dimension".

In his short time in training, Iheanacho has already left a big impression on Leicester City captain Morgan.

"He's a very, very good player".

"It's good to see someone with that know-how, someone with a different acuteness that adds something to the team".

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has hinted that Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho will not start Friday's opening English Premier League clash away to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium Completesportsnigeria.com reports. I think back to Manuel Pellegrini's last season at Manchester City.
