Yankees Rumors: Another Frazier headed to the Bronx?

New York Yankees Matt Holliday center retreats to first base and Jacoby Ellsbury arrives on a ground ball as the throw from second base bounces off Ellsbury past Boston Red Sox's Mitch Moreland during the 11t Joe Girardi points to postseason usage as part of Aroldis Chapman's struggles

Judge almost brought NY within a run with his deep fly ball to center in the eighth, but Jackie Bradley Jr. reached up and made a spectacular catch to rob Judge of a two-run homer.

Sometimes in sport the best efforts go unrewarded, and thanks to a phenomenal catch from Jackie Bradley Jr, Aaron Judge was the latest to experience that. After playing 16 innings on Saturday, the Yankees and Red Sox have a day-night doubleheader scheduled for Sunday. He said, "You're going to have your ups and downs. It's gonna happen at some point...but I think he's maybe getting back on track".

Two weeks ago, I wrote about how every year the Home Run Derby is made the scapegoat for players' second-half struggles.

Having played 94 career games at first base (four this season) Frazier would be a major upgrade for a club that is dying a slow death at the position.

Along with rule interpretation, the play had to have a direct impact on the outcome of the game for the protest to be successful. Aaron Judge now leads the American League (and the National League too) of amount of home runs, at 30. "I thought it was going to hit the JumboTron, to be honest".

The St Louis Cardinals (4-0 over the Pittsburgh Pirates) and Texas Rangers (1-0 over the Kansas City Royals) had shut-out wins.

"This will probably be the only place he gets much of it because of the rivalry", Holliday said. The Yankees and Red Sox were among the teams represented Sunday at Guaranteed Rate Field, where the White Sox lost for the seventh time in the last eight games.

Due to a long-term injury to Greg Bird, the Bombers have played, among others, Chris Carter, Tyler Austin, Rob Refsnyder, Ji-Man Choi, and Garrett Cooper at first base, but they've been unable to get the job done.

NOTES: Miguel Gonzalez is scheduled to make his first start Tuesday since going on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation June 18.

David Price smiles as Bradley Jr. bails him out.

"A lot of different things need to go the right way, you just need to be far enough over the wall, but short enough so you can grab it", Bradley said after the game.

Of course, nobody is more representative of the Yankees' new core than Judge.

And it won't be the last time Judge gets this treatment, but Holliday doesn't expect it anywhere else.
