The singer/rapper hasn't filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, but has said, "It's not a hoax, it's a strategy and marketing 101!"

In a fundraising email to supporters, obtained by the Boston Herald, Warren wrote: "I know a lot of people are thinking: this is some sort of joke, right?"

Kid Rock is officially making a run for the United States Senate. "Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT", Rock promised.

Today he went farther, calling out his Democratic opponent, Debbie Stabenow, by name and saying that he meant to put out music throughout during his "campaign", once again pointing to a run.

"Kid Rock - yes, Kid Rock - tweeted that he's running for Senate in MI", he said in the email.

It was not immediately clear under which political Party Rock might launch his Senate candidacy.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer added, "In the Trump era, we can't afford to take this tweet as a joke". The tweet also included a link to his kidrockforsenate.com website.

Rock - whose real name is Robert James Ritchie - put out a press release July 13 in response to reports that the political rumors were nothing more than a viral marketing campaign.

This isn't the first time people on the internet have floated rumors of Kid Rock running for the Senate. Backing up that theory is the fact that in January, Kid Rock announced he would release a new album in late summer, Billboard reported.

Whatever the reason for Kid Rock's purported campaign website, the artist did get a rise out of people on Wednesday. "I concede she is better at playing politics than I am, so I'll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax-paying hard-working Americans".
