The first year it was a bit of a novelty event, but since then it is surpassing Black Friday sales on Amazon.

In addition to these deals leading up to the day itself, Amazon teased a few of the product categories that would see some slashed prices, like the Amazon Echo products, Kindle products, cell phones, clothing, home goods and more. The sale runs right the way through Tuesday 11 July, ending at midnight. However, the phone has been retailing for around Rs 41,000 recently, but still you can grab it for a lower price on Amazon Prime Day.

In the ongoing Nubia Mobiles sale, the Nubia Z11 mini is now available at a discounted price of Rs. 9,999, a 23% off on its original price Rs. 11,499, that means the Nubia Z11 mini comes with a flat Rs. 3,000 off. Select markets even offer Amazon Flex, an Uber-like shipping system that allows Prime packages to be delivered the same day as ordered.

Amazon has created a summer shopping holiday for its Prime members.

Already the site has deals in advance of the launch, including 18 percent off Amazon Echo, $100 off of a MacBook Pro and 26 percent off Samsung Galaxy S8.

After the Great Indian Sale, International e-commerce company Amazon has kick started its "Amazon Prime Day Sale", offering discounts, cashbacks and exchanges on several smartphones, gadgets and other electronic products.

Onsite vouchers give Prime members up to 35 per cent off select Prime Pantry food and items.

Downloading the Prime Now app will allow selected Prime Day deals to be delivered in one hour.

Only products that come under Amazon Prime service will be offered in the deals.

So with Amazon Prime Day become a major global shopping event, expect major competitors to try to take some thunder away next year by aggressively offering discounts before Amazon Prime Day. In fact, by using your voice, you can potentially get to everything you want to watch without having to push any buttons at all.

As long as you cancel the trial before the end you won't be charged the $79 / $99 yearly subscription.

Should you want to upgrade, the Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Voyage, and Kindle Oasis are also on sale for $89.99, $149.99, and $309.99, respectively.
