Although he was arguably United's standout outfield player in 2015-16, Martial endured a hard second season and struggled to establish himself as a first-teamer under Mourinho. Martial accompanied his post with a red dot to symbolise his commitment to United.

Martial has been linked with a move after it was reported that he had asked Jose Mourinho if he could leave and the United manager had agreed not to stand in his way.

Martial enjoyed a brilliant debut season at Old Trafford, in 2015/16, as he scored 11 Premier League goals and added four assists in 31 appearances following his move from Monaco, which made the world's most expensive teenager.

The United forward has come out to rubbish those claims, however, tweeting to his 918,000 followers: "The rumours are false".

While speculation in France suggested Martial has been unable to speak with Mourinho about his future.

"He has two years left and there is no reason for him to leave Manchester United", Lamboley told Journal du Dimanche.

Manager Jose Mourinho is yet to get the best out of the France worldwide on a weekly basis, but he can be a phenomenal player at United if given the chance, provided he's willing to put the work in on his end.
