An Arkansas prison inmate recaptured after 32 years

Dishman's original term was set for seven years from December 20, 1984, when he was originally charged in Washington County for Theft of Property and Burglary.

Dishman, 60, was found Sunday at a home in Springdale by the ASP and Springdale Police Department.

At the time of his arrest, Springdale Police noted that Dishman had offered no resist and offered himself up, 'quietly'.

Shirley Jones told The Associated Press on Monday that her son has been living in southern Arkansas, but wouldn't specify where Dishman has been living or for how long.

Dishman was originally arrested in Washington County.

Steve Dishman, who escaped in May of 1985, was arrested in northwest Arkansas on Sunday.

An Arkansas prison escapee is captured after spending more than three decades on the run.

The ASP says an individual who had met Dishmam about five years after his escape came forward and told authorities where to find him. She added that he has not been in trouble since he got out, and that "he's a good person".

According to the ADC website, four prisoners are still at large in Arkansas.
