With the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 underway, the Board of Control for Cricket in India have announced the 15 man squad for the tour to West Indies which will begin on June 23, 2017.

Meanwhile, the selectors have included Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav in place of Rohit and Bumrah. While Pant scored 366 runs from 14 games at a strike rate of 165.61, Kuldeep grabbed 12 wickets in 12 matches. Jasprit Bumrah too, has been left out of the squad. It is probably because both have had a few injury problems and the board feels they need rest.

Hardik Pandya continues to hold the all-rounder spot.

With Rohit not there, Pant could be a choice for an opener but as has been the norm, Ajinkya Rahane will be the top contender to open the innings with Shikhar Dhawan.

The members of the team management will stay unchanged for the tour. However, there is still no clarity regarding team head coach.

Both the players are now playing for India in the Champions Trophy.

India though do not officially have a coach for the West Indies tour, with Anil Kumble only contracted until the end of the Champions Trophy.

The other names are usual suspects, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami are the three seamers while R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will lead the spin attack.

Shikhar Dhawan will carry out opening duties along with Ajinkya Rahane and Pant, while the middle order will continue to be marshaled by the likes of Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni.
