Rumoured Manchester United target Victor Lindelof has addressed the speculation linking him with a move to Old Trafford this summer, but has done so by unsurprisingly offering a fairly typical response reminding people he is still under contract at Benfica.

Reports in Portugal claimed a £30million deal is about to be done for a player United have been keen on since January.

However, the 22-year-old is still committed to Benfica, where his contract runs until the summer of 2021.

"There are rumours as there is always, at all times, ' Lindelof told Swedish outlet VLT". Record claim the Sweden global is set to sign a long-term contract after his current club Benfica agreed a transfer fee with the Red Devils. I have played there for five years and really enjoy myself. I'm still young and I'm developing all the time.

The Swede signed a new deal with the Portuguese giants shortly after and, crucially, Benfica renegotiated a sell-on fee clause in Lindelof's deal to maximise their earnings should he be sold.

He will, after all, play Champions League football next season for a Benfica side that simply doesn't understand losing in the comparatively slower Primera Liga.

Lindelof made 47 appearances in all competitions for Benfica last season.

A full Sweden global, Lindelof is a very exciting talent and has the potential to develop into one of the leading centre-backs in world football.
