It will first be available as part of Google's assistant and photos products. Also, speaking at Google I/O annual developer conference, CEO Sundar Pichai announced that as of this week Google has crossed two billion active Android device milestone. "We want to better connect employers and job seekers through a new initiative, Google for Jobs".

Google spoke to hundreds of people before launching this search vertical, he also noted, to find out what their pain points were today with job search. For users in the United States and Canada, hands-free voice calling is a great new addition, and voice recognition means it's possible to have separate contacts for different users.

For example, opening an email containing an invitation to dinner might trigger a prompt to reply "I'm in". You get the visually rich, mobile-optimized package instead.

At Google I/O today, LG Electronics (LG) announced a lineup of smart appliances that are fully compatible with the Google Assistant on Google Home, ushering in cutting-edge connectivity and convenience for today's smart home.

In addition to coming to the iPhone, the service soon will be able to analyze that you point your smartphone's camera at, according to The Verge.

With the new public Beta, we get a closer look at some of the new features Android O is likely to pack. For enterprises, AI will be delivered via the Google Cloud Platform. Siri has come as a built-in service on iPhones since 2011; Google's assistant will require an app download. For example, Chrome's Data Saver feature is enabled and YouTube Go, developed since a year ago, will be the default.

"We are really starting to crack the hard computer challenge of conversationality", Huffman said. Everyone has their mother saved as "mom" in their phonebook so how does Google Home know who to call when you ask to call mom?

The move extends the potential reach of Google's assistant, which debuted last fall on the company's Pixel phone and an internet-connected speaker called Home. Scheduled to go live the end of this year, the Android Go will make you wait because it is only after that when manufacturers will start making smartphones with that lighter version of Android.

Android O is a major update for Google's mobile platform, and it's bringing with it a major focus on entry-level devices.

Pichai also briefly mentioned a one-click "Apply" feature - showing how you could press a big blue button to submit your application - but didn't go into the details as to how this would work.
