It all started out with the Galaxy S4 (no fear of misfortune) and seems to be continuing in the form of Galaxy S8 Active. Samsung recently claimed that the phones would ship without Bixby's intelligent features such as scanning a photo to get relevant info, etc., but said that the core voice commands, weather related information can be accessed.

It did not give a reason why, but early tests - by the BBC and others - suggested the software was lacking in the days ahead of its launch.

A rugged Samsung Galaxy S8 Active could be making its way to AT&T soon, if a new report turns out to be accurate.

Moving past a troublesome previous year, Samsung took the wraps off its much-awaited flagship devices - Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus a couple weeks ago.

These Samsung flagships were launched earlier on March 29 at an event in NY.

Active variants of Samsung's Galaxy S handset always feature larger batteries.

In US, Samsung's own site is throwing mouth-watering discounts right now, until device remains on pre-order, till April 21. She added there was a pent up demand for a large screen Samsung phone after the Note7 was discontinued, and the S8 devices met that requirement.

After the success of the bezel-less displays, Samsung reportedly plans on developing the first dual-screen bendable smartphone. However, in a recent statement to The Verge, Samsung has confirmed that Bixby Voice would not be available at the time of launch and would only come to the Galaxy smartphones later this spring. This is because nearly every major U.S. carrier has the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 plus ready and this also goes for tons of other carriers. Both models, available in five colours, are water, dust-resistant and support wireless charging.

Some folks who have pre-ordered the Galaxy S8 say they've received a special surprise from Samsung.

Although its predecessor, the Galaxy S7 was an wonderful device, the Galaxy S8 comes out on top when both of these are compared.

We expect the Galaxy smartphones to launch in a price range closer to Rs 50,000 mark.
