Jets, among others, 'antsy' to trade down in draft

The Cleveland Browns have the right to the top pick of the 2017 NFL Draft but are torn on selecting a quarterback or the best player of the bunch. It's like the Ron Wolf theory - when the [Packers] had Brett Favre, they kept drafting QBs - they'd draft one every year - Matt Hasslebeck, Aaron Brooks, Mark Brunell, Ty Detmer - [and] they flipped all those guys for draft picks.

Many will question the amount of time Trubisky has played in the college ranks at this stage and think he needs more time on the field. Mitch Trubisky, Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes all have their strengths but they all have glaring weaknesses as well. He clocked an official time of 4.51 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

In 2015, there were reports that Pace actually wanted to trade up to No. 1 overall and snatch away franchise quarterback Marcus Mariota from the Tennessee Titans. With New York rebuilding, he is looking to bring in all the youth that he can. Kitna started for the Bengals for three seasons, earning Comeback Player of the Year in 2003 while throwing for 3,591 yards and 26 TDs.

The Bears hold the No. 3 spot and would be the least of these three teams to likely want a quarterback in the first round. If they feel like they'd need a move up from 12 to get the quarterback, the extra pick or picks acquired for the first overall pick would help the cause. A team that wants to move up balks at what they have to do to get San Francisco's second pick and instead moves on to a cheaper Bears offer.

One team closely monitoring the situation are the San Francisco 49ers. Perhaps they want to nearly guarantee getting the quarterback they like (Trubisky?) by giving up their two second-round selections this year along with the No. 12 overall pick.

On a brighter note, let's take a look at the quarterbacks that may buck the trend and fit with Buffalo in this years draft.

The possibilities and dream scenarios for the Bears are endless.
