There was that time Lena Dunham said wished she had an abortion, the time Raven Symoné said she wouldn't hire someone with a "black-sounding name", literally everything Stacey Dash has ever blurted out and, now, Kim Kardashian saying "the flu can be an wonderful diet".

Unfortunately for the 36-year-old, her sarcasm didn't translate across the social media, leaving her tweet seeming somewhat irresponsible.

In a tweet that has since been deleted but was preserved by TMZ, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star boasted of dropping weight after coming down ill.

She shared: "I'd know when I was starting to look better because my husband would be like, 'Babe, you look so good!' he would never make me feel insecure". "She saw the movie independently".

The reactions to the tweet have been heavily mixed, as a lot of people are noting that the flu can lead to death.

Mel says getting the flu could kill her. However, her "good news" was not accepted as such by many members of the online community.

Kim's thoughts didn't go well with some of her followers, who criticised her over the micro-blogging site.

What do you think of Kim Kardashian calling the flu "an fantastic diet?"

Apparently, a doctor was fast to reply to Kim Kardashian's flue post, calling her out on her stand regarding the Flu as a diet method.

Of course, while the flu is quite common, the infectious disease can sometimes be devastating, and even life threatening.

"So the key to being skinny is starving, got it", one fan wrote, and another said, "Can you please stop with this?" Meanwhile, another follower took a shot at Kim Kardashian's motherhood, tweeting that "Now imagine saying that to your daughter after she gets sick..." "I think if you just really stay motivated and focused, the Atkins diet was so easy for me because there's so many candies and treats that keep you satisfied along the way".
