Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) said she and other GOP senators are questioning why President Trump is spending so much time away from the White House.

Before Trump's seventh visit to Mar-a-Lago last weekend, a Palm Beach Post analysis found that Palm Beach County agencies had spent almost $3.7 million protecting the president.

"I do wish he would spend more time in Washington, D.C. That is what we have the White House for", Ernst said.

Ernst said at the town hall: "I have not spoken to him about the Florida issue yet, but that is something I think that has been bothering not just me, but some other members of our caucus".

At another point, a questioner asked Ernst about how the president treats women and people with disabilities, which Democrat Hillary Clinton criticized Trump on repeatedly during the 2016 campaign.

Because no details have been released about how Trump will spend his weekend, the president still could make the almost two-hour flight from Washington, D.C., to Palm Beach International Airport to spend the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago Club. "So I think that is going to be a conversation that we have when we get back to Washington D.C".

Also absent: the massive Air Force cargo planes that land at Palm Beach International Airport and have heralded Trump's arrival in the past.

The President and his family spent the Easter weekend in West Palm Beach.

"I support a majority of the policies, versus the actual person, but I decry any time a person is ugly towards another person, I don't think that's appropriate", she said.

Ernst's Twitter account posted a link to a Facebook video of her town hall, but the video was not available Wednesday at that link.

Eric Trump, who is running the Trump organization with his brother, Donald Jr., recently told The Independent that Mar-a-Lago, which the president has dubbed the "winter White House", provides "a very effective tool" for his father to "get to know" world leaders. She has called on him to release his taxes and said he wasn't tough enough with Russian Federation.
