The Blackhawks had been shut out in the first two games of this series, but managed to solve Pekka Rinne during a much better second period in Game 3. Chicago is now facing elimination on Thursday night.

After Game 2, every analyst in the Chicagoland area was either writing or podcasting about how shocked they were that the Blackhawks dug themselves into a 0-2 hole, but reassured the team has been here before and can come back from such adversity. They sold off ace Chris Sale and outfielder Adam Eaton last off-season after a year in which they won 78 games with their two best players-winning even that many this season might be a stretch.

Carrie was good luck - The Predators pulled off a 3-2 overtime victory against the Blackhawks, bringing them one game closer to advancing in the playoffs.

Afterward, Underwood and Nashville mayor Megan Barry stood on the ice whipping yellow Predator towels in the air.

"I think everyone's a little pissed off, a little angry", Crawford told reporters at his locker inside Bridgestone Arena.

On the other side, the Preds team and coach Peter Laviolette understand there is no way they can let the Blackhawks get up from this knockout punch.

As mentioned, the Predators eventually won - in overtime - after erasing a two-goal deficit.

Rinne prepared to play the puck around the boards behind his net.

Rinne made 34 saves, even with his franchise playoff scoreless streak ending early in the second period at 141 minutes, 5 seconds. Bozak's goal 1:37 into overtime, putting the Leafs ahead of Washington 2-1 in their first-round series. "[It's] 3-0. They were coming, for sure, in that game". It's up to Kane, Toews and coach Joel Quenneville to find a way to break the defense that has kept the Hawks flustered and scoreless through two games. It appeared they had a pretty good case, too.

But Rinne, who was behind the goal line getting ready to play the puck, remained vigilant and was somehow able to recover in time to make an incredible diving stick save. Neal passed the puck to Fiala in the slot, and Crawford reacted in time to get enough of the puck to keep it out of the net.

Corey Crawford's left leg straightened and Kevin Fiala's neck craned upward.

"We're on God's good timing or whatever you might call it", Underwood admitted of she and Mike welcoming a second child into the world during the April 4 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Everybody knew Underwood would be at the game, seeing as how she's married to team captain Mike Fisher. Nashville seemed to own space in Chicago's collective psyche toward the end of Game 2.

After seven periods of scoreless hockey, Chicago FINALLY found the back of the net in the playoffs as Dennis Rasmussen fired home a between-the-legs pass from Marcus Kruger to give Chicago the lead. The goal also snapped a scoreless skid for Chicago that spanned 177:45 back to their first-round loss to St. Louis last postseason.

50 - Career postseason goals for Patrick Kane, who recorded his in the second period (power-play goal) on Monday.
