Trump's granddaughter Arabella serenaded President Xi in Mandarin on Friday at Trump's private Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

Yesterday, the first daughter traveled to Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate for a very important meeting with China's President Xi Jinping and his spouse Peng Liyuan.

Noting that China and the United States should enhance communication and cooperation in the area of arts, Peng said she hopes that teachers and students of the Bak Middle School of the Arts will make greater contribution in strengthening bilateral ties and friendship through education and arts.

Ivanka could be seen ushering her daughter out to meet the guests, while husband Jared Kushner held 34-year-old Joseph's hand.

The Three Character Classic, known as "san zi jing" in Chinese, is a Confucian classic text used to teach young children in China, Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post reported today.

In a brief clip posted to her Instagram page, Ivanka wrote: "Very proud of Arabella and Joseph for their performance in honor of President Xi Jinping and Madame Peng Liyuan's official visit to the United States".

Beijing's state press highlighted the fact that the "aura of cordiality" and "heart-warming" moments had included a recital by Trump's grandchildren, Arabella and Joseph, of Chinese folk songs.

During Lunar New Year in February, Ivanka took Arabella to the Chinese embassy in Washington DC to attend a party to celebrate the Chinese festive season.

The kids also recited Tang dynasty poems and verses from the Three-character classics according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
