This season, UCLA started three white players: TJ Leaf, Bryce Alford, and Thomas Welsh. Alford was the team's second-leading scorer and among the nation's leaders with 116 threes.

Following the Bruins' 86-75 defeat to Kentucky in the Sweet 16, contested by the last 16 teams left in the NCAA tournament bracket, Ball Sr. let rip on his son's teammates for the loss. Better than Lonzo, actually.

Piling on, it isn't even like Leaf, Alford and Welsh had a bad game against the Wildcats. Lonzo scored 10 points while shooting 4-for-10 from the field and 1-for-6 from 3-point range.

The Bruins lost 86-75 to Kentucky, and Lonzo Ball, projected to be a high pick in this summer's National Basketball Association draft, was overshadowed by Kentucky freshman De'Aaron Fox, who scored 39 points in the game.

"I'm going with the Lakers", said Ball, which was immediately followed by yells from the show's audience. But it's also curious that no one mentioned the injury until two weeks after the loss to Kentucky occurred. Furthermore, his father Lavar Ball stated to reporters in February Lonzo's intentions.

This shouldn't really have been a surprising response that they didn't prepare for seeing as Ball grew up in Los Angeles, played for UCLA and has supported the Lakers his entire life. Next time Ball says something dumb, he might want to make sure he fact checks it first. He said he hoped to play for the Lakers because they are local and he considers himself family oriented. It turns out he sucks at basketball.

SportsCenter's Jemele Hill didn't agree with Lavar Ball, but she slammed the rush of others to get comments from Black people on the matter. I'm just saying when you have more athleticism (on the floor), it's kind of hard when you don't have the foot speed.
