BODEGA BAY, Calif. (AP) - A 13-year-old girl jumped from a moving vehicle Saturday to escape a man suspected of kidnapping and raping her and cutting his name into her skin, California officials said.

Marble was booked into the Sonoma County Jail and charged with numerous accounts of sexual acts with a minor, kidnapping and child abuse. You have now viewed your allowance of free articles.

The girl later told investigators she got into an argument with her mother and ran away from her Napa home on March 30.

Police say they believe Marble picked up the girl at a Napa gas station on Friday.

At one point during the ordeal, he injected her with methamphetamine and also scratched his name into her skin with a knife. The two drove to the country and smoked marijuana together before Marble made sexual advances toward her, she told police.

When the deputies arrived, however, a 13-year-old girl crawled out of the nearby bushes and told them she had been raped.

Authorities made the arrest after the man, who was identified as Timothy Lee Marble, actually called police after the girl jumped from his moving auto traveling along Highway 1 in Bodega Bay, according to authorities.

A man is accused of kidnapping, assaulting and holding a Napa teen girl hostage for 27 hours before she was able to escape.

Sheriff's deputies say the girl jumped out of a moving pick-up truck early Saturday morning on Highway 1 at South Harbour Way in Bodega Bay. He also carved his name into her skin using the knife, which was still visible when she was found.

Marble is due to appear in court this Tuesday.

The 13-year-old girl feared for her life and jumped out the moving vehicle.

The victim told investigators Marble then tied her to a tree and sexually assaulted her.

The victim stated that the suspect stopped his truck and call out to her saying he was going to kill her.

When they arrived, Marble claimed the teen, who he called a "companion", ran away from him after jumping out of the vehicle. Marble is being held without bail at the Sonoma County Jail.

Marble has a lengthy criminal record including a felony conviction felon for drug charges.

Marble has no prior sexual assault offenses and previously lived in Southern California and the Sacramento area.
