There's a new Flash messaging feature that allows users quickly send pre-set customised messages, smileys or location to a contact. According to the company, TrueSDK is contributing over a third of of daily user on-boarding and verifications for its partners and the number of apps leveraging TrueSDK has grown by over 8X.

With Truecaller 8, the company is utilizing its mobile identity platform to build a mobile payment service in partnership with ICICI Bank, India's leading private-sector bank. Nami Zarringhalam, who is the co-founder and CSO of Truecaller, stated in a press release that Truecaller valued partnerships like Google. Another, Truecaller Payments, lets Android users in India send and receive money securely over the phone.

All transactions of Truecaller Pay, powered by ICICI Bank, follow two factor authentication as per RBI guidelines for secure transfer of money. The company has tied-up with Airtel, Google and ICICI Bank to introduce new features to the app. This paid service will deliver the identify of unknown numbers via Flash SMS before the call hits the user's mobile phone. In addition, users can also do prepaid and postpaid recharges. "We believe this association shall make UPI payments seamless for a larger audience and will also play a crucial role in strengthening the government's "Digital India" mission", Banerjee further said. The feature also means that Truecaller will filter out video call spammers as well.

With more than 100 million users, Truecaller does have a solid user base in India, and the company has decided to make full use of its popularity. It will initially be a permission-based service.

Apart from in-house updates, Truecaller also announced a bunch of important new partnerships. Truecaller Pay, a mobile peer-peer payments solution is also in the works, and Google Duo integration will allow users to make video calls.

Amit Fulay, who is Google Duo head of India said that video calling was everyone's right and that everyone should avail it. Thus, its partnership with Truecaller will help the search-engine firm expand the reach of its app.

India is Truecaller's largest market by a significant margin, and the spam call detection service is now launching a series of initiatives aimed specifically at Indian consumers. Integration with apps like Truecaller, which boasts more than 250 million users globally, could turn that trend around.
