There has been speculation that 76ers center Joel Embiid might miss the final 26 games of the season with knee injuries.
The Sixers have not set a date for Simmons' return.
According to Forbes, the Knicks also posted an NBA-record operating profit of $141 million last season, despite a 32-50 season record. Wednesday's matchup against the Boston Celtics at T.D. Garden marked the 11th straight game he has missed after suffering a bone bruise in his left knee on January 20 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
"I don't know the timing", Brown said.
"We do expect him to play this year", Brown said Wednesday, per CSNPhilly.com's Jessica Camerato.
The All-Star Game is Sunday in New Orleans and the Sixers are off until Friday Feb. 24, when they face the Washington Wizards. It's moving slowly. It's calculated.
The 76ers haven't issued a firm timetable for Simmons' return to game action since the rookie fractured his right foot September 30, but the No. 1 pick indicated in January that he was aiming to play at some point after the All-Star break. Brown further elaborated that Simmons would need to put in at least five five-on-five full scrimmages before making his debut, something the coach didn't envision happening during the upcoming break. "We're trying to be very careful".
"I think he looks good, even though it's five-on-zero", Brown said.
