Now it's worth understanding that there's still a chance the game could release in 2017. Originally slated for a December 6th release date, it was pushed back to the beginning of 2017. However, this isn't the first time that the game has been delayed, as it was previously moved out of the holiday 2016 window, into an early 2017 slot.
"South Park: The Stick of Truth", the previous entry to the franchise, also suffered through multiple delays. Ubisoft's next fiscal year runs from April 1, 2017 until March 31, 2018.
Ubisoft stepped in for "The Stick of Truth" in 2013 after THQ's collapse. The company now expects full-year sales to be between $1.54 billion and $1.59, which is down from its previous range of $1.7 billion and $1.78 billion. Disappointing news, then, but if all those involved need the extra time to make South Park: The Fractured But Whole as genuinely amusing and satirical as its predecessor, then we're all for the added development period before it arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
Record digital revenue for the same period also saw an 84.4% rise compared to past year, seeing digital sales of €383 million.
