With Super Bowl 51 set to kick off Sunday, The California Office of Traffic Safety and local law enforcement across the state are urging drivers to call the right play and hand over the keys before drinking. "The busy holiday season is past, but Super Bowl Sunday is an unofficial holiday in the U.S. Troopers urge all CT residents to proceed with caution as they celebrate with friends and family".

Officers with the team will patrol Saturday from 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. and on Sunday from 6 1 a.m.

Be alert to what OTHER motorists are doing, be prepared to stop, or change lanes.

Law enforcement agencies arrested 325 drivers during last year's Super Bowl enforcement, according to CDOT.

Act responsibly by designating a sober, non-drinking driver before the game even starts. And, while the New England Patriots and Atlantic Falcons do battle, one law enforcement official also hopes you watch how much alcohol you consume.

"If you drive impaired, expect to be pulled over", interim District 22 commander Lt. Michael Alvey advised in a news release.
