Liverpool are determined to send Mamadou Sakho out on loan in order to save his club and worldwide career, but the player himself has already rejected two possible loan destinations.

Word from local sources in Granada, though, claim that the Spanish club have a short list of three defenders they are considering on deadline day and the club expect to complete a deal for at least one of them before the transfer window shuts tonight.

Klopp believes Sakho can still have a future at Anfield but only if he goes out on loan and shows an eagerness to knuckle down and recapture his form and fitness. However, the player has been told by club manager Jurgen Klopp that he is fifth in the pecking order for center-backs at the club.

The Daily Mirror claims that the France worldwide turned down a transfer deadline day move to Turkish side Besiktas, while he also rejected loans to West Brom and Stoke earlier in the window.

The defender made a total of 22 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League last season in which he was involved in 9 defensive actions per match. He also netted in 1 goal for the Reds, as reported by Squawka.

The 26-year-old man from Paris is yet to feature for Liverpool under manager Klopp this season.

Lucas Leiva - who is set to stay at the club despite significant interest from Turkey - has also been used at centre back, with highly-rated teenager Joe Gomez close to returning from a long-term injury.
