The visit comes as Trump has been trying to attract black voters with a blunt question: "What in the hell do you have to lose" by voting for him?

Gonzalez, 56, is a Mexican immigrant. He said the process would take between 18 months and two years, and cited a 1950s era effort known as "Operation Wetback" as a model for what he hoped to achieve. He preaches for a Victory Outreach International evangelical church in west Phoenix.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks during a campaign rally at Xfinity Arena of Everett, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, in Everett, Wash.

He's been repeatedly accused of racism, including by members of his own party when he said a judge should recuse himself from a Trump University case due to his Mexican heritage. The tweet was supposedly an attempt to broaden Trump's appeal to African-Americans by suggesting Clinton didn't deserve the support of black voters.

During the primary, Trump hitched his political wagon to 11 million illegal immigrants, promising to toss the lot of them out of the country.

Republican nominee Donald Trump has made it a central point in his campaign to prevent foreign workers from being employed illegally in the US, and said he would end the H-1B visa program - a program, it just so happens, that Trump Model Management apparently used frequently.

"Yes, I think he's moving away from that - from the perspective - taking into consideration many factors involved: Is the person a criminal?

Sergio Arellano discusses Republican strategy for recruiting Latino voters at the Arizona GOP headquarters in Phoenix on August 29, 2016.

Sergio Arellano, 32, the strategic initiatives director of the Arizona Republican party, said he focuses on community outreach to recruit Latinos and other minorities to the Republican party.

Like Pastor Gonzalez and Arellano, Gabriella Trisler is a Hispanic Trump supporter.

"Mr. Trump's message is all about protecting America", said Mary Ann Mendoza, whose son, Sgt. Brandon Mendoza of Mesa PD, was killed by a wrong-way driver in the country illegally.

"Somebody said to me, 'Remember, there will be about 100 million people watching and 60 million will be paying attention to the campaign for the first time".

Republican nominee Donald Trump doesn't plan to participate in mock debates with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton according to a New York Times report Monday.
