The Portland Timbers midfielder was voted an All-Star by the fans, Major League Soccer announced Saturday. With three goals and five assists this season, Kak√° has figured in almost a goal per game.

Joining the Lions' captain will be joining reigning MLS MVP Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC), Giovani dos Santos (LA Galaxy), Ivorian star Didier Drogba (Montreal Impact), as well as USA men's national team players Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City) and Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers) as Fan XI selections.

The players chosen in the Fan XI vote won't necessarily be the starters. The reigning MVP and Golden Boot victor has made 19 appearances for Toronto FC in 2016, registering a total of nine goals and six assists in MLS and the Canadian Championship.

The 2016 AT&T MLS All-Star game features a contest between the MLS All-Stars and English Premier League club Arsenal FC at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif., on Thursday, July 28, at 4:30 p.m. In total, the Mexico worldwide has 10 goals and 10 assists since joining the Galaxy in the fall of 2015.

Giovani dos Santos has seven goals and five assists for the Galaxy this season.

NYCFC was one of three teams with two players named to the Fan XI, along with Philadelphia's Andre Blake and Keegan Rosenberry, and Montreal's Laurent Ciman and Didier Drogba. While the players named to the Fan XI are not guaranteed a spot on the game day roster, the outcome of fan voting is taken into consideration as the 22-man roster is decided.
