Orlando Police: 'Multiple injuries' after nightclub shooting

Reports on social media are claiming that there has been a mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

It posted on its Facebook page: "Everyone get out of pulse and keep running".

Over 20 people have reportedly been shot and at least are 30 injured after an unknown assailant opened fire in Pulse Night-club, according to India Today reports.

The violence broke out at the Pulse nightclub, Orlando police said on Twitter, advising people to "stay away from area". "I am not sure if there are any deceased at this time".

Police responded to the scene just after 2 am on Sunday, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Other people tried to take cover by dropping to the floor.

Multiple vehicles including the Orlando Fire Department's bomb squad and hazardous material team are on the scene.

A man is heard claiming: "They're shooting back and forth, it's insane".

It comes after the star of The Voice, Christina Grimmie was shot dead by a deranged fan as she performed at the Plaze Live venue in the city on Friday.
