LeBron James Will Pay Dahntay Jones' $80 Fine for Groin Punch

If the National Basketball Association really wanted to punish Jones, they should have hit him with a monetary fine rather than a suspension given his negligible salary. But don't worry, Dahntay; you can go ahead and cop that HP Envy 4520. James told cleveland.com he would "take care" of Jones' fine, though at the time he didn't know the dollar amount.

Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Dahntay Jones was suspended for one game after he hit Bismack Biyombo in the groin during Saturday's game against the Toronto Raptors. He'll probably be able to find that $80 somewhere. Buuuuuut maybe just take Jones out to a fancy dinner or toss him a pair of low-end LeBrons instead of handing over that comically small* check. The Cavs signed the 35-year-old as roster depth/insurance for their postseason, and they signed him just before the regular-season finale, so he technically played only one game.

Jones says that his hit on Biyombo was unintentional, but given Biyombo's monster game, multiple run-ins with the team thus far in the series, and LeBron's willingness to pay for the fine, it's fair to wonder how "accidental" the run-in was.
