The South Korean tech giant unveiled its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones in Dubai on Wednesday.

The company's home-brewed Exynos processor has allowed the S7 to be priced at a reasonable Rs 48,900 and the S7 edge at Rs 56,900.

The phones come with an always-on display and, as the company claims, also bring the first Dual Pixel camera on a smartphone.

The Galaxy S5 which was released in 2014 featured a microSD card slot and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, both of these features were missing from last year's Galaxy S6 lineup.

To persuade buyers, Samsung is giving away Gear VR headsets to consumers who pre-order the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. The phones will start selling from March 18.

Camera: Samsung has come with a 12-megapixel rear camera for the both the handsets.

Samsung is equipping the new Galaxy with popular features of past phone models.

Samsung announced the Galaxy S7 with Snapdragon and Exynos processors during MWC.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, which translates into a brilliant 577 PPI. Returning to Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile, the subscribers can only buy the Black version of the Galaxy S7 at a price of $649 plus tax. The smartphones runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Secondly, both devices will need to be purchased on the equipment installment plan, and that any taxes or down payments will need to be paid by the customer, so there will be some charges incurred.

While Galaxy S7 comes with 3000 mAH battery, the Galaxy S7 Edge sports a 3,600 mAh battery.
